Marshalls is known for offering luxury items at affordable prices, but what specifically should seniors look out for this Black Friday? There might be some items on this list that retirees hadn’t even considered going to Marshalls for.
Here are the items fashion and consumer experts say will be deeply discounted at Marshalls this Black Friday.
1. Outerwear
If seniors are looking to refresh their jackets and coats, Marshalls will likely have very appealing Black Friday sales. According to men’s fashion blogger Matt Adler, name brand jackets are likely to be one of the top sellers at Marshalls during Black Friday.
“Marshalls already has these jackets marked down, which usually means they’ll drop even further for Black Friday,” he said. “Also, it’s the gift season, and outerwear is a good gift, so retailers often push deeper discounts.” Adler predicted Marshalls will sell outerwear for 30% to 50% below current markdowns.
2. Cozy Loungewear
Once you have your outerwear covered, retirees can focus on their inner wear, so to speak. “People love cozy pieces for winter-gifting, and Marshalls has inventory that shows further markdowns are coming,” Adler said. He predicted loungewear and knitwear will see 10% to 20% sales on Black Friday.
3. Footwear
Whether seniors need new shoes for the winter elements or just want some slippers for the home, Marshalls is likely to have them on sale. “Footwear is always a gift category for holidays,” Adler said. He said shoppers will probably encounter 40%+ off additional markdowns on shoes, especially boots and comfort footwear.
4. Home Goods
There are aisles of great items for the home like pots and pans at Marshalls. Adler said a lot of these items will see 25% to 45% markdowns come Black Friday: “Home goods are always a top gift option. Plus, the ‘Gifts for Home’ section is full of gift-friendly stock. Oversupply means deeper discounts for Black Friday are expected.”
Home goods sales could help tremendously with interior decorating needs. “This year’s Black Friday sales event is expected to be one of the biggest discounting opportunities for high-value home decorative items and large home furniture pieces like accent chairs and console tables,” explained Mike Bowman, the technical product manager and director of digital marketing at Patio Productions. “All items that have been on the floor for longer than 28 days will see the largest clearance price reductions, generally between 40% and 70% off the original Marshalls ticket price for the purpose of making room for new holiday inventory flow.”
