If you are a senior or retiree with a sweet tooth and a Costco card, there is some good news: You can get amazing desserts and snacks from your favorite mega-retailer without overspending.
Living on a fixed income can be difficult to navigate; however, it does not mean you need to deprive yourself of the joys of life, especially as you get older. Here are five Costco desserts that seniors can treat themselves to the next time they go shopping.

Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Price: $11.23
“What I love about the Siete chocolate chip cookies is that it’s a large serving,” said Alison Neov, a registered dietitian and owner of Neov Nutrition LLC.
“They are also grain free, so they are a great option for those who are avoiding gluten,” Neov said. “The Siete cookies are also sweet and delicious even though they only have 7 grams of added sugar.”

Chocolate Dark Chocolate Quinoa Crisps
- Price: $8.39 (regularly $11.89)
The Undercover dark chocolate quinoa crisps from Costco were a huge hit when Neov passed them out at a local educational event.
“Everyone was surprised at how much they enjoyed the taste of popped quinoa,” Neov said. “It is made with a whole grain and dark chocolate, so it is a great choice for brain health!”

Mini Granola Bites
- Price: $13.61
The MadeGood organic granola minis from Costco are delicious, are certified gluten-free, and contain 2 grams of fiber and 2 grams of protein per serving, according to Neov, making them the perfect option for seniors to snack on whenever they get a craving.
“It’s a great choice for those who have food allergies and are looking for a cookie alternative. It’s also only 100 calories per serving,” Neov added.

Peanut Butter Cups
- Price: $15.31
Costco’s Skinny Dipped dark chocolate peanut butter cups are the lowest in added sugar for any chocolate peanut butter cup based on Neov’s findings and perfect for seniors who enjoy a little nutty, saltiness in their sweet treats.
Plus, these peanut butter cups will also help keep seniors full. “This would be a great option for someone who loves peanut butter because it has more peanut butter and less chocolate than the traditional peanut butter cup,” Neov said.

Fruit Bars
- Price: $17.01
The That’s it mini fruit bars are a great alternative for seniors who are looking for a chewy and sweet treat, in Neov’s professional opinion.
“They do not have any added sugar, come in at only 60 calories per serving, and have 2 grams of fiber per serving,” Neov described. “I also like that it comes in 3 different flavors so you will not get bored, and they are easy to pack for a snack on the go.”
