Elizabeth MacDonald is the host of FOX Business Network’s (FBN), The Evening Edit with Elizabeth MacDonald, airing weekdays from 5 to 6 p.m. ET. MacDonald joined the network as stocks editor in September 2007.
Prior to joining FBN, MacDonald was a senior editor at Forbes Magazine, where she covered the IRS, corporate accounting scandals, Washington, D.C. and created "The World's 100 Most Powerful Women" annual list.
Before Forbes, MacDonald covered corporate accounting scandals, the IRS, taxes and Washington, D.C. for The Wall Street Journal, with front page stories, Heard on the Street columns and editorials. MacDonald was one of the first journalists in the country to sound the alarm in the mid-90's about the coming wave of accounting scandals. MacDonald also broke stories detailing the Church of Scientology's secret settlement with the IRS and the Kennedys' use of the IRS to target and audit political enemies and thousands of groups and individuals. This included Fair Play for Cuba, which was connected to assassin Lee Harvey Oswald, as well as allegations of political audits under the Clinton Administration.
Prior to that, MacDonald was a financial editor for Worth magazine and covered the IRS and taxes for Money Magazine. MacDonald reported an award-winning investigative series on IRS abuses that led to improved taxpayer rights and reforms at the IRS. Her IRS coverage led MacDonald to be called in twice to testify before Congress about IRS reforms and taxpayer rights.
