When the ultra wealthy hit the slopes, it’s likely they’ll go to one (or more) of the most luxurious ski towns in the United States.
In December 2024, Realtor.com released a list of 11 ski towns that are among the most expensive and luxurious in America. Colorado took the top spot and dominated overall rankings with a total of four ski towns, the most out of any state. GOBankingRates also sourced Sperling’s BestPlaces to determine the monthly and annual cost of living for a family that would like to live in any of these 11 towns.

1. Telluride, Colorado

3. Teton Village, Wyoming

- Cost of living per month for a family: $37,260
- % more expensive than the national average: 590%

4. Big Sky, Montana
- Share of listings over $5M: 24.08%
- Cost of living per month for a family: $11,160
- % more expensive than the national average: 106.7%

5. Jackson, Wyoming
