Figurines and sets that have been included in packages like McDonald’s Happy Meals back in the day now sell for big bucks online as collectors seek out nostalgia from days gone by.

Original Shrek Movie Toys

Burger King toys connected to “Shrek 2”are for sale everywhere on the internet. What are a lot harder to find are the original toys released in conjunction with the very first movie. The full figure set includes everyone’s favorite green ogre, Shrek, as well as his friend Donkey, and Princess Fiona. The Gamer estimates that if you have all of these in one collection it can be worth about $165.
The Rugrats Movie Toys

Nickelodeon’s animated series, “Rugrats,” was hugely popular in the ’90s. In 1998, the adventurous troop of babies got their own movie, so Burger King naturally gave them a line of toys to celebrate. Back in 2001, McDonald’s did not just release one Snoopy figurine from the popular “Peanuts” franchise, but 16 different types of the animated dog in various professions and identities. Each of the Snoopy versions has a place in a McDonald’s Snoopy Original Bag, completing the set. A seller has listed a used collection of the toys on eBay for $390.
Super Mario Bros. 3 Happy Meal Toys

McDonald’s and Nintendo teamed up in 1990 to release a series of Happy Meal toys to celebrate the debut of the third video game in the popular Super Mario series. This set comes with the titular siblings, Mario and Luigi, as well as their enemies like Koopa Paratroopa and Little Goomba, with some interactive environment props. A full collection is available on eBay for $600.
