No matter how low you negotiate the price to a brand-new luxury car, there’s one set of costs the car salesperson can’t control: repair and maintenance fees. Driving a car, no matter how nice and new, creates wear and tear. Cars break down, accidents happen, age and mileage take a toll. Regardless of how advanced a luxury car is, somewhere down the line it will require basic maintenance, if not much more.
That’s why Car Edge recently created a list of luxury car upkeep costs for a number of pricey rides. From that list, GOBankingRates culled the 10 luxury vehicles that are most affordable in terms of maintenance and repairs, ranking them from least expensive to most expensive across a five-year timeline.
If you’re in the market for a luxury set of wheels but don’t want to pay the equivalent of a second car in repair fees, these are the lux rides for you.
1. Tesla
- 5-year maintenance cost: $1,583
2. Lexus
- 5-year maintenance cost: $2,377
3. Genesis
- 5-year maintenance cost: $2,547
4. Acura
- 5-year maintenance cost: $2,715
5. Alfa Romeo
- 5-year maintenance cost: $2,802
6. Volvo
- 5-year maintenance cost: $3,240
7. Audi
