Unlike wholesale clubs that rely on bulk quantities and oversized packages, Trader Joe’s is uniquely well-suited for solo shoppers and anyone cooking for one. Many items are priced to reduce food waste, keep weekly grocery bills manageable and still deliver quality and flavor.

If you’re single and responsible for paying all the food bills, TJ’s can be a hidden goldmine. To help you shop smarter, here are five of the best Trader Joe’s deals when you’re shopping for one.

1. Italian Tomato & Burrata Ravioloni

  • Price: $3.99

If you’re craving something a little larger than ravioli, try raviolini — raviolo’s larger cousin new to Trader Joe’s. It’s imported from Italy and packed with creamy burrata, mozzarella, crushed roasted and dried tomatoes, breadcrumbs and basil paste. Tomato powder and spinach make one side of the raviolini red and the other green.

2. Shrimp Noodle Rolls

  • Price: $4.49

These shrimp noodle rolls are filled with shrimp and mixed vegetables wrapped in dim sum noodles. They are quick to prepare — just heat a little oil in a pan and cover with a lid so they can steam for a tender texture and a crispy bottom.  Serve them as a snack or a side dish with a stir-fry or as the main course with leafy greens. Pair them with a savory dipping sauce.

3. Beef, Bean & Cheese Burrito

  • Price: $4.49

Sometimes you want a huge plate of pasta. For others, a light salad will do. Trader Joe’s beef, bean and cheese burrito hits the middle. Ideal for one, it’s packed with spiced ground beef, chopped onions, pinto beans and shredded white cheddar cheese inside a flour tortilla and can be ready in a few minutes in a microwave. Add tortilla chips and guacamole as a side.

4. Handheld Chicken Pot Pies

  • Price: $4.49

Trader Joe’s takes the traditional chicken pot pie to a portable level with a handheld empanada pastry pocket. Heat them in an oven or air fryer and enjoy them at home or when you’re on the go in the palm of your hand. They’re made with primarily dark meat chicken, potatoes, peas and carrots.

5. Sesame Crusted Hardwood Smoked Ahi Tuna

  • Price: $7.49

Sesame crusted hardwood smoked ahi tuna is back in the store after a hiatus. It’s a great appetizer for one. Its sustainably sourced Ahi from the Pacific Ocean and off the coast of Micronesia. Thinly sliced and made with white and black sesame seeds, it tastes good over rice or in a salad with Ponzu dipping sauce right out of the package.
