If you love fast food but can’t stomach the high prices, get ready for good news! McDonald’s said it’s lowering the cost of some of its most popular menu items.

Over the years, prices at the Golden Arches have crept steadily upward. McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski admitted that people often experience sticker shock when they look at a typical McDonald’s menu board.

“Today too often if you’re that consumer, you’re driving up to the restaurant and you’re seeing combo meals, could be priced over $10, and that absolutely is shaping value perceptions and is shaping value perceptions in a negative way,” Kempczinski told investors.

He stressed that McDonald’s offers deals through its loyalty program and in-store promotions, but many customers aren’t taking advantage of them. In fact, they might not even be aware of them. That’s why McDonald’s is wheeling out new, lower prices that won’t require a special app or loyalty card.

The new deals will be on the menu board for everyone to see. They include steep discounts on breakfast meals, Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets. The breakfast meals are especially exciting for McDonald’s, since the company has faced its biggest losses in breakfast offerings.

Here’s how McDonald’s plans to lower prices and attract more customers.

Combo Costs Will Plummet

McDonald’s plans to deliver more value on eight combo meals. When the new pricing kicks in, those combo meals will be 15% cheaper than the cost of those items sold separately.

The chain hasn’t announced what all of the new combo deals will look like, but it has divulged plans to make its signature McNuggets more wallet-friendly. The new 10-piece McNugget combo promotion will deliver a 10-piece meal, a drink and fries for just $8.

The Big Mac is probably the most iconic offering at McDonald’s. Unsurprisingly, the company plans to make the ever-popular burger more affordable with an $8 combo meal.

Expect To See More Value at Breakfast With $5 McGriddles

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, right? It’s definitely going to be more affordable for McDonald’s fans.

The company plans to offer its Sausage, Egg & Cheese McGriddle sandwiches for $5 apiece. That’s a great way to get customers smiling in the morning.

When Are Prices Dropping?

The new McDonald’s deals will take effect sometime in September and will stay in effect until early 2026. In other words, the deals won’t be around for too long, so fans should take advantage while they can.

Where Can I Get the New Deals?

The Big Mac, McGriddle and McNugget meals are likely to be available at every McDonald’s store. But so far, it’s not clear which stores will be offering the other combo deals.

Since McDonald’s operates with a franchise system, individual store owners set their own prices. McDonald’s said the company will give financial support to franchise owners who lower their prices, but it remains to be seen how the new discounts will actually take effect.
