If you’re about to host a New Year’s Eve party, you’re going to want to get everything right. Whether that means getting the right decor for the festivities or grilling up some ribs, it’s bound to be a celebration everyone can enjoy.
However, if you’ve ever hosted a party like this before, you probably already know how expensive it can be. If you don’t set and stick to a budget, you can easily go overboard. Fortunately, you can actually get most of what you need for under $100 at Walmart.
Photo Booth Props

It’s hard to throw a memorable party without decor that pops. This set of party supplies makes it so much easier. It includes six 2025 New Year’s cone hats, 25 New Year’s photo props, gold curtains and more. Every piece is perfect for all those selfies your guests are going to be taking at your party.
Classic Paper Plates
Price: $6.32
Keep costs low and save yourself from having to spend hours on dish duty with this set of 60 paper plates. They’ve got a simple, classic design and are premium quality, so you won’t have to worry about your guests cutting through them or leaks. They’re even microwave safe, so you have something to heat up any leftovers on after the big event.
Plastic Cutlery Set

You’re probably going to need some plastic cutlery to go with those paper plates. For under $1, you can get a set of eight black forks, knives and spoons. But since that probably won’t be enough, why not pick up a few packs of these? You’ll have enough to serve your guests and won’t have to dip into the good silverware.
Amscan New Year’s Eve Disposable Napkins

You want to believe there won’t be any messes or spills, but things happen at parties, so it’s good to be prepared. At Walmart, you can get a 40-count of disposable napkins at a reasonable price.
These are more than your average napkins, though. They’re festive, classy black, and say “This is the year” on them. Add a strategic napkin to every place at the table, stack a dozen or so on the main counter or by the snack food, and keep a few in reserve.
Solo Clear Cups

Of course, you’re going to also need something for your guests to drink out of. These clear solo cups are perfect for casual New Year’s Eve get-togethers where the main beverages of choice are cocktails, sparkling cider, soda, beer, fruit punch or even water. They’re not the best for hot drinks, but they’re classic for anything cold. They’re also fun to use for cold desserts, like layered Jell-O salad.
If you want something your guests will really remember, fill these cups preemptively so they can come by and grab one on their way to mingle with everyone else. They’ll appreciate it, as will you when you don’t have any dishes to clean at the end of the night.
Charcuterie Board

Whether you’ve got a potluck-style party going on, or you’re serving everything from the appetizers to the main course, it’s always a good idea to satiate your guests with a charcuterie board. For a smaller get-together, you can pick one up for about $15 at Walmart. It includes sliced pepperoni, hard salami, Colby-jack cheese, cheddar cheese and crackers.
To make things just a bit classier, make your own miniature displays of these meats and crackers on other plates.
Cookie Platter

Who ever said no to dessert at a New Year’s Eve party? Baking can take a lot of time, though, so make things easier on yourself while still satisfying your guests’ sweet tooth with these decadent cookies.
They come in a 32-count that includes chocolate chunk, turtle brownie, white chocolate macadamia nut and oatmeal raisin cookies. Just like with the charcuterie platter, display these on a nice platter for that added wow factor.
Smithfield Fresh Pork Spareribs

Depending on how many guests you’re having and the nature of your party, you might end up having to spend a lot on food. One way to keep costs relatively low while still keeping with the vibe of the night is to get some Smithfield brand fresh pork spareribs. They make for a great main course, especially when slow-baked or grilled.
Martinelli’s Sparkling Apple Cider

Face it, a single bottle of bubbly — even the non-alcoholic kind — is never enough, so why not pick up two for about $7 in total? Martinelli’s is a classic, one that even the kids attending your party can enjoy. You can keep costs low, and the party casual, by pouring some Martinelli’s sparkling cider in those solo cups. Or if you’re feeling brave, you can always bring out your fancier glasses.
Whatever you choose, make sure everyone has enough for a toast to bring in 2025.
