Black Friday shopping overwhelms even organized people. In order to help shoppers get the best deals, I asked ChatGPT for help. I also asked ChatGPT to scan Nordstrom’s current deals and identify the best values worth buying now versus waiting — in case you want to get a jump on your shopping.
The AI delivered specific product recommendations with prices, deal-hunting strategies and tips for maximizing savings.
The Top Deals Available Now
ChatGPT identified several standout items already majorly marked down before the main Black Friday rush.
The Open Edit Bonded Crepe Midi Dress is currently priced at $31.32, which ChatGPT called “a solid markdown for a dress that’s often priced much higher in non-sale times.” Midi dresses can run much higher, making this a genuine deal rather than fake markdown games.
For workwear, the Nordstrom Collarless Twill Blazer hits at $66.99. ChatGPT described it as a “good price on a polished layering staple” that works for office or casual settings. Quality blazers can easily cost $100 or more, so this pricing represents real savings.
The Nordstrom Crewneck Midi Dress at $38.30 caught ChatGPT’s attention as “a versatile, easy dress.” Basic midi dresses are wardrobe workhorses, and sub-$40 pricing for Nordstrom quality is worth grabbing.

ChatGPT found three more clothing items that are pretty decent deals.
The Nordstrom Cotton Puff Sleeve Midi Dress at $36.37 got flagged as “trending feminine dress at a nice discount.” Puff sleeves dominated fashion recently, and finding on-trend pieces under $40 is rare at department stores.
The Nordstrom Textured Sheath Midi Dress at $41.79 rounded out the finds as “a stylish sheath dress with texture, marked down.” Sheath dresses are interview and event staples that justify paying slightly more for quality that lasts.
Broader Black Friday Sale Patterns ChatGPT Spotted
Here’s where it got really cool. Beyond specific products, the artificial intelligence identified Nordstrom’s overall Black Friday strategy and where deeper discounts hide.
ChatGPT found that Nordstrom’s main Black Friday page shows major discounts from Nike, UGG and The North Face. Shoe sections feature markdowns up to 50% off on fall styles. The women’s Black Friday section includes deals on Spanx undergarments and Lilysilk pajamas — categories people forget to check during sales but where savings add up. It suggested checking this page regularly until Black Friday for updates.
ChatGPT also wrote that Nordstrom Rack advertises up to 70% off for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, suggesting the outlet side offers steeper markdowns than main Nordstrom stores for shoppers prioritizing price over selection.
ChatGPT’s Black Friday Shopping Strategy Tips
The AI didn’t just list deals, it had some decent tactical advice for maxing out Black Friday savings at Nordstrom.
Keep checking Nordstrom’s Black Friday and sale pages because they update with new doorbusters throughout the event. What’s available today isn’t the final lineup. Use sale and Black Friday filters on subcategories like women’s clothing or shoes to uncover hidden gems that don’t make the main sale page. Deep discounts often hide in category-specific sections.
Check Nordstrom Rack separately from main Nordstrom since the outlet offers steeper discounts, sometimes 70% off versus 40% to 50% at regular stores. Move fast on deep discounts because popular sizes and colors sell out quickly. ChatGPT warned that hesitation costs you the best deals during high-traffic sales events.
Compare Black Friday versus Cyber Monday pricing since some categories like tech and shoes might see deeper cuts later. Not everything hits its lowest price on Friday.
What ChatGPT Couldn’t Tell Me
The AI acknowledged limitations in its deal analysis. It couldn’t predict which doorbusters would appear later during Black Friday weekend since retailers don’t announce everything upfront.
ChatGPT also couldn’t compare Nordstrom’s deals against competitors in real-time. That requires manual cross-checking.
The AI suggested it could pull together predicted doorbusters and live deal trackers for specific categories if I wanted deeper analysis. But for quick “what’s good right now” scanning, ChatGPT had a ton of useful information.
