Halloween is rapidly approaching, and if you haven’t gotten around to shopping for everything you need ahead of spooky season, now is the time to do it. To help you out, GOBankingRates looked at some of Walmart’s Halloween offerings and compared them to similar items sold at Target to see where shoppers can save the most money.
See which seven Halloween items it pays to buy at Walmart instead of Target.
Posable Skeleton (5 Feet)
- Price: $29.97
In the category of posable skeletons measuring at 60 inches, Walmart’s offering from the Way To Celebrate brand is much cheaper to buy than at Target.Â
A similar skeleton offering from Target with the same height measurements costs $40, or a little over $10 more what you’d pay for at Walmart.
Halloween Ghost in a Jack-o’-Lantern Yard Inflatable
- Price: $16.88
Is it cheaper to get a Halloween inflatable from Walmart or Target? The answer, in some cases, may be Walmart. Way To Celebrate’s Halloween ghost in a Jack-o’-lantern inflatable measures at 3.5 feet tall and costs $16.88.Â
We couldn’t quite find a ghost and pumpkin inflatable pairing to match Walmart’s exactly, but Gemmy’s Halloween inflatable Jack O’ Lantern with ghost comes pretty close at 4.5 feet tall. The price tag is another story. While the inflatable is currently on sale for $29.99, it regularly retails for $52.99. When considering the sale price, Walmart shoppers save $13 but technically, they’re saving more than $36 at the full listed price.
Halloween Reversible Jack-o’-Lantern Stack Airblown Yard Inflatable
- Price: $16.88
There are several reasons why shoppers should snag Way To Celebrate’s reversible Jack-o’-Lantern stack inflatable at Walmart instead of Target.
Aside from the price, in which a similar pumpkin inflatable retails for $25 at Target, this inflatable boasts a reversible ability. Switch it from one side for happy grins and another for sinister smiles.
Ghosts Plush Throw
- Price: $4.98
Both Walmart and Target sell Halloween-themed throw blankets with ghost prints, but which is cheapest? It’s Walmart with the Way To Celebrate brand.Â
A similar throw offering from Target’s Hyde & EEK! Boutique costs $10 per throw. This means Walmart shoppers can get two ghost printed throws for the price of one throw blanket at Target.
Pumpkin Decorative Pillow
- Price: $6.97
Try as the Target Hyde & EEK! Boutique might, it can’t quite outpace Walmart’s inexpensive pricing for pumpkin-shaped pillows.Â
The Way To Celebrate brand’s pumpkin decorative pillows are a bestseller on the Walmart website for a good reason. Each pillow is only $6.97 each, much less than what you’d find for similar pumpkin pillows sold at $10 each at Target.
Brach’s Classic Candy Corn
- Price: $2.48
Shopping Brach’s classic candy corn? Savvy shoppers can pick up an 11-ounce bag for just $2.48 at Walmart. In comparison, the same candy corn brand and sizing retails for $3.29 at Target.
Freshness Guaranteed Harvest Orange Frosted Sugar Cookies
- Price: $3.98
If you’re taking a container of orange-frosted sugar cookies to the office for a work potluck, you can save a little money getting these cookies at Walmart.Â
A package of 10 sugar cookies from the Freshness Guaranteed brand costs $3.98 whereas the exact same cookie style, and count, runs at about $4.79 at Target. That comes out to 81 cents in savings, which is all treats and no tricks for your wallet.
