The Super Bowl spotlight always shines brightest for the winners. The game’s MVP famously stars in a Disney World commercial, shouting, “I’m going to Disney World!” as the confetti rains down around him. With the label of “champion” comes lots of cash, too.
But what about those players who never win it all? Plenty of those players fared well, too — some who lost more than one Super Bowl, others who never even reached the playoffs.
GOBankingRates looked at the richest NFL players from Celebrity Net Worth and cross-referenced that list with the list of players who never won a Super Bowl. Read on to see who heads the rankings.
Edgerrin James
- Net worth: $40 million
- Years Active in NFL: 1999-2009
- Teams: Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks
- Position: RB
James played in one Super Bowl, rushing nine times for 33 yards in the Arizona Cardinals’ 27-23 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII. He does have a Super Bowl ring, sent to him by Colts owner Jim Irsay after the team won the title the year after James left.
Champ Bailey
- Net worth: $45 million
- Years Active in NFL: 1999-2013
- Teams: Washington Redskins, Denver Broncos

- Position: LB
The furthest Arrington went in the playoffs was the NFC divisional round, a 20-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Calvin Johnson
- Net worth: $45 million
- Years Active in NFL: 2007-2015

Considered one of the greatest receivers in NFL history, “Megatron” never won a playoff game during his career with the Lions.
Albert Haynesworth

Vincent Jackson
- Net worth: $50 million
- Years Active in NFL: 2005-2016
- Teams: San Diego Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In Jackson’s stellar career, he reached one AFC Championship Game, losing 21-12 to the New England Patriots in 2008. He never played in the Super Bowl.
Tony Gonzalez
- Net worth: $50 million
- Years Active in NFL: 1997-2013
- Teams: Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons
- Position: TE
One of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, Gonzalez never played in a Super Bowl. After years of heartbreak with the Kansas City Chiefs, Gonzalez reached the NFC Championship Game with the Atlanta Falcons in 2013, but Atlanta lost 28-24 to San Francisco.
Marcus Trufant
- Net worth: $50 million
- Years Active in NFL: 2003-2012

- Years Active in NFL: 1983-1999
- Teams: Miami Dolphins
- Position: QB
Marino reached just one Super Bowl in his legendary career, a 38-16 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in his second season. Everyone assumed he’d return, but he never did.
Arian Foster
- Net worth: $50 million
- Years Active in NFL: 2009-2016

Foster was a punishing, powerful running back who reached the playoffs twice with the Texans, never advancing beyond the divisional round.
Aeneas Williams

- Years Active in NFL: 1991-2004
- Teams: Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams

Williams came oh-so-close to a Super Bowl title in 2001, when his Rams lost 20-17 to some guy named Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
Tony Romo

- Teams: Dallas Cowboys

The long-time Cowboys great was never known for his playoff success. He played in six playoff games, losing twice in the divisional round and never reaching the NFC Championship Game. He will, however, be calling the Super Bowl as a broadcaster for CBS.
