Side hustlers are getting very creative and a great — and somewhat easy — way to make money is by reselling Dollar Store items on other platforms, which can prove very lucrative, very quickly.
For instance, business coach and TikToker Tiffany McIntosh posted several videos, claiming that she is making extra money by reselling these items on Amazon. In one video, McIntosh said that the $80 she spent at Dollar Tree would turn into more than $500.
In another video, she said that her family spent $120 to make $700 — racking in $580 in profit.
Retail Arbitrage: What Is It?
As The DailyDot noted, McIntosh uses a business model known as “retail arbitrage,” which is buying branded products from a retail store at a discount and then selling them on Amazon for a profit.
And as Business Insider reported, retail arbitrage has not only become a side hustle for some, but other have turned it into a full-time job. Indeed, in another Business Insider article, Garry Ray, an Amazon seller from Kentucky said he made $2.4 million in sales.
Other Options for Reselling Your Items
In addition to Amazon, you can resell dollar store items on other online auction sites, including:
- eBay
- eBid
- Bonanza
- Webstore.com
- OnlineAuction.com
Look for low selling fees to make the most profit.
