Costco has a major win with its Kirkland brand food items. Most are overwhelmingly popular, earning at least 4.5 stars from satisfied customers.
However, they all can’t be a hit. While not necessarily a total miss, a few items have earned less than that coveted rating.
This, of course, doesn’t necessarily mean you shouldn’t buy these items, but it’s worth proceeding with a bit of caution.
Here’s a look at six of the lowest-rated Kirkland brand food products.
Kirkland Signature Whole Dried Blueberries
- Price: $10.49
In theory, this 20-ounce resealable bag of whole dried blueberries seems like a great value.
These Kirkland Signature Whole Dried Blueberries are rated 4.4 stars, so many customers are satisfied with it — but more than 200 people given this product a rating of just one or two stars.
Common complaints include beliefs that the berries are too sweet and they taste like chemicals. So now that you know this, proceed with caution.
Kirkland Signature Protein Bar, Variety Pack
- Price: $23.99
Gluten-free and kosher, this Kirkland Signature Protein Bar Variety Pack seemingly has a lot to offer.
Featuring 10 chocolate chip cookie dough bars and 10 chocolate brownie bars, each bar has a competitive per unit price of $1.20.
Despite that, customers have only rated it 4.3 stars. Nearly 50 people have given these bars a one- or two-star rating, with many complaining about the taste of the chocolate chip cookie dough bars and others disliking the texture of both flavors.
Kirkland Signature House Blend Whole Bean Coffee
- Price: $12.99
On this surface, this 2.5-pound bag of Kirkland Signature House Blend Whole Bean Coffee is a steal.
Balanced and smooth, it’s roasted in the U.S., but it only has a rating of 4.1 stars.
While certainly not a terrible assessment, it is notable that more than 50 reviewers have rated it three stars or less. Several unsatisfied customers complained that the coffee beans in their bags were oily, with the coffee tasting more like a dark roast than a medium.
Kirkland Signature Organic Sumatra Whole Bean Coffee
- Price: $42.99
Another coffee that might not hit the mark, Kirkland Signature Organic Sumatra Whole Bean Coffee is also rated 4.1 stars.
Certified USDA Organic, this medium-dark roast comes with two 2-pound bags of coffee beans.
It seems like a bargain, but more than 70 customers have rated this coffee two stars or less. Common complaints included that the beans were dry, and the coffee tasted weak.Â
Kirkland Signature European Cookies With Belgian Chocolate
- Price: $17.99
One of the lowest rated Kirkland brand food items, this one earned just 3.7 stars.
Presented in a decorative holiday tin, these Kirkland Signature European Cookies With Belgian Chocolate feature 15 cookie varieties, for a total of 156 pieces.
Despite that, some reviewers complained all the cookie varieties tasted the same, while others felt that most or none tasted good.
Kirkland Signature Belgian Luxury Chocolates
- Price: $20.99
Featuring an assortment of milk, white and dark chocolate, this box of Kirkland Signature Belgian Luxury Chocolates has 46 total pieces.
It might sound delicious, but it’s actually the lowest-rated Kirkland brand food item, earning just two stars.
However, it’s worth noting that only one person has rated this item. They complained that while the presentation was impressive, the chocolates themselves missed the mark.
