It’s becoming increasingly expensive to buy a home in America.

From the first quarter of 2023 to the first quarter of 2024, home prices across the U.S. have risen by an average of 6.6%, according to an analysis by Visual Capitalist. Prices have increased in every state, with the average home rising in price by 2.2% in the state where prices have risen the least, and 12.8% in the state where home prices have risen the most.
