The average one- and two-bedroom rent will cost millennials slightly more money than other generations renting in Florida.
Millennials pay 11.5% more on average for housing nationwide. This key finding was uncovered by GOBankingRates in a recent study analyzing the average rental cost across major U.S. cities. This percentage was then added to the average one- and two-bedroom rent in six Florida cities and rounded up to the nearest dollar amount.
From Miami to Orlando, this is how much millennials are paying for rent.
Miami
- Average one-bedroom rent: $1,756
- Average two-bedroom rent: $2,326
Jacksonville
- Average one-bedroom rent: $1,257
- Average two-bedroom rent: $1,478
Tampa
- Average one-bedroom rent: $1,495
- Average two-bedroom rent: $1,867
Orlando
- Average one-bedroom rent: $1,477
- Average two-bedroom rent: $1,836
St. Petersburg
- Average one-bedroom rent: $1,384
- Average two-bedroom rent: $1,743
Hialeah
- Average one-bedroom rent: $1,457
- Average two-bedroom rent: $2,032
Methodology: The average overall rental cost, one-bedroom rental cost and two-bedroom rental cost were sourced from ApartmentList. The rental amounts were multiplied by 1.115 to reflect what millennials pay for rent across the United States. All data was collected on and is up to date as of Sept. 13, 2024.
