Where do billionaires send their children to school? They probably aren’t the elementary schools you pass on your morning commute. These schools are hidden, prestigious and incredibly expensive.

But, it’s always fun to take a peek into how the upper echelon lives. Here are some of the schools known to cater to billionaire children and how much they’re costing parents each year.

Institut Auf Dem Rosenberg 

• Avg. Tuition: $166,000 a year
• Location: St. Gallen, Switzerland

Institut Auf Dem Rosenberg costs more money to attend than most Americans make in a year. For that cost, students will be in classes with only about eight people total, and each get an individual development plan that caters to their goals.

The school was established in 1889 and has housed the likes of Mario J. Molina, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1995. Rosenberg has a locked down privacy policy which prevents it from disclosing or confirming alumni, but it has established a private network of previous students so they might benefit from working together to find opportunities.

Le Rosey

• Avg. Tuition: $130,000 a year
• Location: Rolle, Switzerland 

Don’t like the scenery at Le Rosey? No worries. Students at Le Rosey change campuses seasonally, so they’re always treated to a beautiful backdrop for their academics. This means in the winter, the students migrate to Gstaad where they can be closer to ski chalets for winter activities. The school opened in 1880 and has had quite prestigious alumni, like King Fouad II of Egypt, King Juan Carlos of Spain and King Albert II the Belgium.

THINK Global School

• Avg. Tuition: $94,050 a year 
• Location: New York City

THINK doesn’t have just one campus; students live and learn in four countries every year. There is a 4:1 student to teacher ratio, so you’re guaranteed individualized learning. THINK is the newest school on this list, as it was founded in 2010. Graduates from the school are still young, but they have gone on to pursue degrees in law and study the effects of climate change. 

The Lawrenceville School

• Avg. Tuition: $79,500 a year for boarding; $65,420 a year for day
• Location: Lawrenceville, New Jersey

Established in 1810, The Lawrenceville School offers a wide array of courses, including a specialized arts program. The school also requires students to attend two activities every term that relate to “religious life.” Religions explored on the Lawrenceville campus include Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, Humanism and Sikhism. Notable alumni include Jay Carney, Michael Eisner and Huey Lewis. 

Phillips Academy 

• Avg. Tuition: $73,780 a year for boarding; $57,190 a year for day
• Location: Andover, Massachusetts

Phillips Academy was started in 1778. Those hundreds of years have seen many students grace the halls, including Humphrey Bogart, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Bill Belichick. Phillips classes cater to grades 9-12 and are small — with only 13 students in each class on average. The campus also offers an art gallery, archaeology museum and observatory. 

The Hill School

• Avg. Tuition: $72,390 a year for boarding; $49,350 a year for day
• Location: Pottstown, Pennsylvania

The Hill School is based around the idea of family, calling itself “The Family Boarding School.” The entire school eats together for lunch and one dinner during the week. Students are empowered to share their stories openly through forums with the student body.

Those who attend The Hill School are also required to attend nondenominational chapel services twice a week. As for athletics, their main rivals are actually the students over at The Lawrenceville School. People you might know who went to The Hill School include Richard L. Yuengling Sr., who was the president of Yuengling Brewery, and Tom Wolf, who was the governor of Pennsylvania for eight years. 

Choate Rosemary Hall

• Avg. Tuition: $69,370 a year for boarding; $53,410 a year for day
• Location: Wallingford, Connecticut

Wallingford is a small town with only about 45,000 residents, but its proximity to Yale in New Haven and other Ivy League schools gives it an air of prestige.

The school’s roots go back to 1896, when it was established originally as a school just for boys. Now, it serves boys and girls in grades 9-12, with the option for post-graduate classes. Some of Choate’s signature programs include robotics, Arabic and Middle Eastern studies, and environmental immersion. Some famous alumni include John F. Kennedy, Jamie Lee Curtis, Paul Giamatti and Glenn Close.
