A well-maintained CR-V could easily last over 10 years and may even reach 20 years with minimal issues. The CR-V’s safety features also make it an excellent choice for retirees.”
Lexus RX

If you’re in the market for a crossover that screams luxury and reliability, check out the Lexus RX. The 2026 RX starts at $51,175, which is a step up from the CR-V. However, the Lexus RX offers high-end build quality, including premium interior materials, a luxe exterior and a proven track record of longevity. “If you want luxury at a good value, the RX is an excellent choice,” Musson said. “The working parts display craftsmanship and commitment to quality. An RX will often last 30% longer than competitors’ products. The safety features are excellent and retirees will appreciate the cabin comforts of a Lexus.”
Toyota RAV4

The 2026 Toyota RAV4 comes with Toyota’s strong brand reputation for longevity. The RAV4 offers a spacious interior, including cargo storage, despite being a compact SUV. Additionally, the RAV4 offers strong fuel efficiency, with up to 44 MPG in the LE Hybrid model, per Car and Driver.
