For all the excitement of buying a brand new car, dealing with the gritty details of financing can be incredibly stressful, especially if you’re car shopping with subprime credit. Having low credit can often make securing financing for a new car difficult-to-impossible, and shoppers with subprime credit numbers can often feel helpless.
That said, there are a number of car brands that offer financing specifically tailored for those with low credit, making the purchasing process as easy one that’s well worth the hassles.
Jeep
According to Chrysler Capital, car shoppers can secure a discount known as CCAP Subprime Bonus Cash that knocks $750 off of select vehicle models to those with a FICO beneath 620. Not everyone qualifies, however; per CarsDirect, the discount applies primarily to Jeep models such as the Renegade, Compass and Cherokee.
Nissan
Nissan shoppers with bad credit have access to a discount known as Special APR Cash that can help them in the purchasing process. Additionally, if Nissan’s financing company, NMAC, denies a shopper’s loan request, they will send the shopper’s credit report to outside lenders that specialize in poor credit financing for review.
Chevrolet
Chevrolet’s financing company, GM Financial, has a number of APR offers for subprime shopper with poor credit. According to a program called Down Payment Assistance, the company offers a low APR in addition to $2,000 in down payment help. Unfortunately, it’s a program that comes and goes with Chevy, and isn’t always active.
