No car is worth the cost if it will put your life at risk in the event of an accident. While newer cars are typically stacked with safety features, some cars still have higher rates of fatal accidents than others.
To find the most dangerous car models, iSeeCars.com analyzed data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Fatality Analysis Reporting System for model year 2018-22 cars that were involved in car crashes that resulted in at least one occupant fatality. Among the 10 most dangerous models, the rate of fatality is at least 2.8 times the average.
Here’s a look at the dangerous car models that aren’t worth their costs.
Hyundai Venue

- Rate compared to overall average: 4.9x
Chevrolet Corvette
- Starting MSRP: $68,300
- Fatal accident rate (cars per billion vehicle miles): 13.6
- Rate compared to overall average: 4.8x
Mitsubishi Mirage
- Starting MSRP: $16,695
- Fatal accident rate (cars per billion vehicle miles): 13.6
- Rate compared to overall average: 4.8x
Porsche 911
- Starting MSRP: $120,100
- Fatal accident rate (cars per billion vehicle miles): 13.2
- Rate compared to overall average: 4.6x
Honda CR-V Hybrid
- Starting MSRP: $34,650
- Fatal accident rate (cars per billion vehicle miles): 13.2
