Even American car brands are not immune from tariff price hikes, as many of these cars contain parts that are manufactured abroad. For example, 35% of the parts used to make Ford cars are manufactured abroad, which means that tariffs are expected to raise prices of Ford vehicles by a median of 5.5%, according to a report from Jerry.
To avoid potential tariff-related price hikes, consumers can look to purchase cars that are predominantly made in America. To find the most American-made cars, Cars.com evaluated more than 400 vehicles from the 2025 model year to identify the models that contribute most to the U.S. economy through manufacturing, parts sourcing and employment.
