If you’re a retiree in the market for a new ride before the end of the year, there are lots options to consider that won’t break the bank. Further, many of these affordable sedans come with top safety options and smooth rides.
Here’s a look at six sedans to consider as we approach Christmas. Keep in mind, you may be able to find a great deal on a sedan as dealers look to push older models out to make room for new ones.
2024 Lexus ES Hybrid
When it comes to great sedans for retirees, it may be tough to beat the 2024 Lexus ES Hybrid. In fact, it was named the best car for older drivers by U.S. News & World Report.
The ES Hybrid is a luxury midsize car with a cushy ride, lots of space and a fuel-efficient gas-electric powertrain. With a starting price at $43,440, it costs more than $10,000 less than some rivals.
2024 Toyota Camry
Here’s a popular vehicle that’s a good choice choice for retirees to consider buying before the end of the year — another pick from U.S. News. If you’ve ridden in a Camry, you know it has plenty of legroom and space for drivers on the go.
Priced at $26,420, this sedan is easy to maneuver and has a solid fuel economy. Here’s another plus of the Camry: It has an infotainment system that’s easy to use.
2024 Honda Accord
This is another popular vehicle for older drivers to consider, also included as a top pick for seniors by U.S. News. At $27,895, the Accord won the 2024 Best Midsize Car for the Money award from U.S. News.
The Accord has lots of advantages for seniors looking for comfort and safety, including a comfortable cabin, plush seats and a smooth ride.
2024 Toyota Crown
Kelley Blue Book listed this among the best cars for seniors. Further, KBB noted it’s among the best values for older drivers, with a base price of $41,445.
The Crown is a solid choice for drivers looking for a safe vehicle. You’ll find LED highlights with auto on-off, high-beam assist, emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning with steering assist in the Crown.
2024 Acura Integra
This may be a good choice if you’re looking for space, comfort and good handling. According to The Zebra, “The Acura Integra stands out as a top choice among small, lower-cost luxury cars, offering impressive value at a lower cost than many competitors.”
Starting at $32,995, the Integra has a bunch of driver aids, including blind-spot monitoring and pedestrian detection. Like some other popular rides for seniors, this one has an easy-to-use infotainment system.
2024 Mazda3
Here’s a solid and affordable vehicle to consider before the end of the year. Per AARP, “Four-door sedans have largely fallen out of favor with buyers who tend to prefer SUVs these days, but the four-door version of the Mazda3 is a stalwart of the company’s line, offering excellent value, styling and solid fuel economy.”
In addition, the Mazda3 has a good safety rating and an EPA mpg of 31 combined city and highway. It starts at $24,170.
