Monday
For deal seekers, Monday may be the best day to visit McDonald’s. This is the day that McDonald’s offers “Deal Drop” promotions on its app. In addition to running general sales on various items, the mobile app promotions can also be targeted to individual users. So, for example, if you often go to McDonald’s and order a Sausage McMuffin, it’s possible that the “Deal Drop” may offer you a discount on that item — or perhaps a deal on a different menu item to get you to try additional products.
Wednesday/Thursday
Some McDonald’s fans recommend going to the restaurant on Wednesday or Thursday. For starters, these are the days that are likely to be less crowded. This can offer a more pleasant dining experience, a shorter wait to order, and a quicker delivery time for your food, making it fresher, hotter and more satisfying. Some individual franchise locations may also offer mid-week specials to entice customers during slower times.

Friday
If you’re a fan of McDonald’s French fries, then Friday — or “Fry Day”– is the day you want to visit. Through December 31, 2025, you can get a free order of medium fries with a $1 purchase through the McDonald’s app.
Delivery Day
While this might be harder to determine for a specific location, if you visit McDonald’s on the day it receives deliveries, you might receive a fresher order. Many busy locations receive deliveries daily, so it might not matter which day you visit. But for rural franchises, or those that have lower turnover, finding out which day is delivery day may be an optimal time to visit for the freshest product.
Bonus Time: Around 10:30 a.m.
If you’re looking for the best time of day to visit a McDonald’s location, try 10:30 a.m. This is the transition period from breakfast to lunch, and it means that any lunch item you order will be freshly made. If you visit during lunch rush, for example, you might receive a burger that has been sitting for a long time in the delivery queue, as the kitchen is working ahead as fast as it can to keep up with the rush-hour demand. When the kitchen is transitioning, however, it will just be starting to make its lunch menu, so all items should still be fresh.
If you’re looking for fresh French fries, which are the number one selling item at McDonald’s, order them with no salt. As all fries at McDonald’s are salted by default, ordering the saltless version means that the restaurant will have to make them fresh just for you. You’ll need to add salt to get that legendary McDonald’s flavor, but you’ll be guaranteed to get a fresh batch.
