Home Depot might be a go-to for home projects, but not every holiday item there is worth the price. Some festive finds look appealing on the shelf, yet fall short in quality or value.

Before filling your cart this Christmas, here are some items to avoid at Home Depot in 2025.

Let It Snow Musical Artificial Christmas Tree

  • Price: $149.99

This artificial Christmas tree from Fraser Hill Farm is not popular with purchasers. Several reviewers said the tree felt cheaply made, with thin branches, an oversized base and awful-sounding music. Others complained the fake snow function was just tiny Styrofoam beads that scattered everywhere and didn’t blow out evenly.

LUMABASE Battery-Operated Mini String LED Lights

  • Price: $30.83

Even though these multi-color string LED lights come with two battery-operated light strands, customers were not happy with this purchase. Complaints consisted of lights not working properly, changing to the wrong color or failing to stay lit for more than 10 minutes. Some reviewers also said the lights were too dim, the remote only worked at close range and the batteries needed frequent replacement.

Tall Candy Cane Holiday Pathway Garden Stake

  • Price: $22.61

This garden stake set was not a big hit with buyers. Common problems included the lights being too dim and only holding a charge for about an hour, even after being charged all day by the solar panel. Others mentioned poor-quality wiring and lights that were too small or blinked instead of staying lit. Another complaint was that the stakes had to be pushed really far down into the ground to avoid falling over in the wind.

Christmas Wreath for Single Car Garage

  • Price: $149.00

The Christmas wreath listed here by My Door Decor has reviews that are not favorable. Purchasers complained the panel behind the wreath was partially blank, and that the wreath bracket was too narrow or didn’t fit properly. They also reported the metal grommets were spaced incorrectly and the bottom spring clamps broke.

Cindy Lou Who Christmas Inflatable

  • Price: $44.98

Some Home Depot customers were not fans of the Cindy Lou Who Christmas inflatable. Reports included the inflatable not staying upright and lights that weren’t bright enough. Other complaints mentioned weak fan strength, issues with turning the inflatable on, lights that didn’t work, poor overall quality and flimsy material.
