If you’re planning a Walt Disney World vacation in 2026, you might be wondering if you should buy tickets this winter or wait for a deal.

But there’s one thing Disney travel experts want you to know: “Disney rarely has ‘sales’ on tickets,” said Beverlyn Fleming, independent travel planner at Best Ever Vacations with BEV. There are a few exceptions, however, which we’ll share below.

To find the best prices, you want to understand the theme parks’ peak and off-peak days. If you can, buy tickets for off-peak times and days. “Be flexible in the time of year you choose to go,” Fleming said. “If kids are off school, bets are that’s an expensive time to visit.” Below are the best and worst times to plan your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation.

Also here’s how to score cheaper Disney tickets.

Best Times To Buy Disney Tickets

Late November to Early December

Fleming shared that early December, after Thanksgiving but well before Christmas break is the next best time to visit Disney. This leaves a few weekends to enjoy the holiday décor before the crowds start pouring in. Weekdays are your best bet, since you can avoid Christmas party crowds and still soak in the seasonal ambiance.

Early in the Week

A look at the Disney website reveals that ticket prices run slightly lower on random Mondays and Tuesdays than other days, although you can sometimes find low-priced tickets on Sundays and Wednesdays, too.

“Even during off-season, the ticket price will vary, with mid-week being less than the weekend,” Fleming confirmed.

Right Now

Disney has a special offer to reward Disney+ members right now, with three-day, three-park tickets starting at $109 per day for select dates between January 12 and May 22, 2026. The tickets are good for one park per day, but only at Hollywood Studios, EPCOT and Animal Kingdom, not Magic Kingdom or the water parks.

Worst Times To Buy Disney Tickets

If you’re trying to avoid unmanageable crowds and ticket prices as high as $209 for a single day (per Daily Passport), avoid these times of the year.

Summer Vacation

Summer vacation typically starts in late May to early June and goes through early August. You’ll want to avoid these dates. Late August can also get crowded — and pricey — since some schools in other parts of the country don’t start until after Labor Day. Plus, the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival takes place around this time, drawing larger than usual crowds.

April

Between runDisney race events from April 17 through April 20, 2026 and spring break throughout the month, April is one of the worst times to visit Disney World.

Holiday Weekends

For those trying to plan a Disney World vacation on a budget, Fleming summed it up succinctly. “Basically to get the lowest Disney ticket prices, avoid all major holidays, holiday weekends and summer,” she said.
