When Sam’s Club superfan Josie B. told us she shops at the big-box store every single week and refuses to buy certain products anywhere else, we had to know what makes Member’s Mark so special. The private-label brand has quietly built a loyal following of shoppers who swear the quality matches or beats national brands at a fraction of the cost.
Josie walked me through her five nonnegotiable Member’s Mark purchases and explained exactly why she keeps coming back.
Member’s Mark Super Premium Paper Towels
“I will not buy paper towels anywhere else,” Josie said when I asked about her first must-have. “These are like 20 bucks for a huge pack, and they’re actually absorbent. You know how some cheap paper towels just push water around? These don’t do that. I’m actually in love with them, and you can quote me on that.”
Josie uses them for everything from cleaning up spills to wiping down counters, and she said one roll lasts her significantly longer than grocery store brands.
Member’s Mark Premium Baby Diapers
Josie has two kids under 3, which means she goes through diapers at an alarming rate. When I asked if she’d tried other brands, she didn’t mince words.
“I tried Pampers, Huggies, all of them when my first was born. Then someone told me to just try Member’s Mark,” she said. “They’re $33 for a box of 184 that lasts way longer than the name brands, and I’ve never had a blowout issue. Why would I pay double?”
She admitted she was skeptical at first because of the price difference, but after using them for her first child’s entire diaper-wearing years, she didn’t even consider other brands when her second was born.

This one surprised me because it’s not a necessity, but Josie was adamant that these belong on her must-buy list.
“These chocolate almonds are dangerous,” she said. “They’re $20 for a massive container, and they taste better than the fancy ones you’d buy for twice the price.”
Josie keeps a container in her pantry and brings them to parties, where she said people always ask where she got them. The almonds are crunchy, the chocolate coating is smooth and the size of the container means they actually last.

When it comes to laundry, Josie said she used to buy Tide pods religiously until she did the math on how much she was spending per load.
“The Member’s Mark laundry pacs are $20 for 130 of them,” she explained. “Tide would cost me almost double for the same amount. And you know what? My clothes come out just as clean.”
She uses them for everything from her kids’ stained clothes to her husband’s work uniforms, and she hasn’t noticed any difference in cleaning power. The scent options are solid, and the pods dissolve completely without leaving residue.
Member’s Mark Bottled-in-Bond Straight Whiskey
The last product on Josie’s list caught me off guard. When I asked why whiskey made her top five, she had a whole explanation ready.
“OK, so my husband and I like to have cocktails on the weekends, and buying decent whiskey adds up fast,” she started. “This bottle is $19 and it’s legitimately good. We’ve served it to friends who drink expensive stuff, and they can’t tell the difference in a cocktail.”
She clarified that she’s not claiming it’s the best sipping whiskey you’ll ever have, but for mixing into an old fashioned or a whiskey sour, it absolutely holds its own. The bottled-in-bond designation means it meets specific quality standards, which gives it more credibility than bottom-shelf options.
