A move to the suburbs may mean a better quality of life — at least in these ‘burbs. NoTriangle Studio recently did a study defining the 10 top suburbs in America by a few different metrics including housing market conditions, median income, education levels and nice weather.

Here’s which suburbs to move to in 2025. 

Vienna, Virginia

Vienna took the top spot for many reasons including safety. Vienna has a crime rate of 1,086 per 100,000 residents. Its median rent is $2,410 and a housing market value of $1,092,614. These are probably pretty affordable for residents, considering Vienna has a median household income of $215,556. The employment rate is high as well at 66.8%.

Southlake, Texas

In the Lonestar State, Southlake shines as the top suburb. Just outside of Dallas, Southlake has a median income of a jaw-dropping $250,000. It’s not cheap to live in Southlake, as the average home costs $1.25 million, but with that healthy income, most residents can afford it. Crime is low at 1,266 per 100,000 residents. 

Lexington, Massachusetts

This suburb 10 miles outside of Boston is full of educated people, with 84% of them holding a bachelor’s degree. That makes it the most educated suburb on the list. That education is put to good use clearly, as residents are pulling in a median income of $206,323. The crime rate is low at 330 per 100,000 residents. Lexington dwellers will also enjoy 200 sunny days a year. 

Garden City, Idaho

For something a little more affordable, check out Garden City. The median rent is $1,132, and the market value for homes is $501,033. The median income for Garden City residents is $61,548. Plus, those living in this suburb will get an average of 209 sunny days a year. 

Winchester, Massachusetts

Another Massachusetts suburb has made the cut and it’s slightly closer to Boston at 8 miles outside of downtown. Winchester is similar to Lexington in terms of median income for its residents, at $208,531. Also like Lexington, crime is also low at 311 per 100,000 residents. Of the people in Winchester, 77% have a bachelor’s degree. 

Beverly Hills, California

The first West Coast suburb on the list is the famous Beverly Hills. Known for being home to the rich and famous, it’s no wonder it ranks as a very desirable — and expensive — place to live. The housing market is the highest on the list at $3.56 million. The median rent is $2,675. The median income is $116,771, which is surprisingly low, considering the prices of homes. Residents will also have to deal with a higher crime rate on the list at 4,874 per 100,000 residents. But, there’s that 278 sunny days a year to sweeten the deal. 

Brentwood, Missouri

Brentwood is a great place to live that offers a considerably lower cost of living than other ‘burbs on the list. The average house costs $265,122 and the median rent is $1,357. The median income for Brentwood residents is $89,688 and 73% of them are employed.
