Even if you make a six-figure salary, you might not be taking home $100,000 after taxes are accounted for. In some states, you have to make a salary of over $150,000 to take home $100,000 once federal, state and local taxes plus FICA withholdings are withdrawn.
If you want to take home $100,000 without needing to earn too much above that threshold, it’s best to move to one of the nine states with no income taxes — Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington or Wyoming.
