Robert Kiyosaki has been posting more frequently as of late than in days prior, and whether his posts hinge around the persistent themes of investment — usually in precious metals, Bitcoin or real estate — they’re always razor-focused on bringing potential wealth to his wider audience.
In a recent Facebook post, however, the “Rich Dad Poor Dad” author pivoted to a less-discussed topic: How to get rich without any significant starting capital whatsoever.
Kiyosaki kicked off his post with a reminder of the steep inflationary pressures being faced by Americans (and really, global citizens writ large), moving to remind his followers that spending less — rather than earning more, or generating cash flow — was a losing game. And without any seed money to get into business, or resources to passive income, things might look hopeless.
Not so. Enter TikTok Shop.
TikTok Shop: Become a Salesperson With (Almost) No Overhead
“TikTok Shop did $33 billion in sales last year. And here’s what changes everything. It costs nothing to start. No inventory. No website. No ads. No tools. No startup capital. Just your smartphone,” Kiyosaki began.
The steps to success, according to the finance guru?
- Pick an inexpensive item on TikTok shop: Kiyosaki highlighted a car organizer, cleaning brush or kitchen tool for this purpose, as they’re readily available and easy to showcase.
- Get to filming: By filming a very brief 15-second clip, and having people buy from your presence, you earn commission. Kiyosaki implied this could be anywhere in the range of 10% through 30%. Show the item in action, working as advertised.
- Post regularly, A-B test, and double down on success: Slowly expand your breadth of pitches by ensuring you provide regular content (at least five to 10 items per day), A-B test to see which items are driving engagement and sales, and lean into any successes by pushing more content in that vein.
“You don’t buy inventory. You don’t ship anything. You don’t handle customers. The brand does all that. Your only job is creating content that shows products solving real problems. This requires zero dollars to start. You’re not taking money from groceries. You’re not paying for ads or tools. The only barrier is effort,” Kiyosaki added.
Kiyosaki closed out his remarks by creating a sense of urgency: Where TikTok shop is still in its growth phase, having quite a ways to go before it matures, the window of opportunity to get in before you’re crowded out by competitors is closing fast.
