Social media can be lucrative, not only for some investors and creators, but also potentially by helping you learn skills and tips that can help you earn more money.

Granted, you want to be careful about spending too much time following trends that aren’t realistic, and you want to be extra mindful about potential scams or misleading posts. There’s no shortage of creators trying to get you to buy their course about side hustles that lead nowhere, or to put in money upfront to participate in a gig that doesn’t actually do anything.

That said, there are plenty of legitimate side hustles discussed on TikTok. They might not easily lead to significant earnings — otherwise everyone would do it and be rich — but it’s possible to still do well.

Print on Demand

One side gig that can be lucrative is setting up a print-on-demand business, where you sell items like apparel, using a platform like Printify to handle the logistics. For example, @kevinqvd explains that you can upload a design created in a tool like Canva into Printify and then list that item on Etsy. By linking your Printify and Etsy accounts, Printify will print and ship on your behalf with each order.

This can take a lot of skill in terms of creating good designs and tapping into trends of products that people want to buy, but if you can figure it out, it can lead to a lot of passive income.

Flipping

A classic side hustle promoted by influencers like GaryVee is flipping, where you scour places like flea markets and garage sales to find items that you can then resell for higher amounts. This can be time-consuming, difficult, and take a little bit of upfront investment. But if you have a good eye for items that will sell well online, there’s a lot of potential to make good money.

User-Generated Content

If you want to make money by posting on social media as a creator, you might be able to monetize your channels by creating user-generated content on behalf of brands that will pay you to do so.

As @reginaaageorgeee0 explains, she uses the SideShift app to connect with these brands. At the high end, you can earn hundreds of thousands of dollars from some brands, but that’s certainly not the norm, and you’d need a substantial following.

Vibe-Coded Apps

You don’t have to know coding languages nowadays, thanks to AI that lets you create apps through a process known as “vibe coding.” There are several platforms where you can do this.

The creator @riley.x76 mentions that you can create multiple apps per day on a site called Vibecode, for example. While creating the apps might be easy, gaining traction and monetizing them can be hard. Still, if you have a good idea for an app, this could be a lucrative option.
