Considering investing in an SUV? While many buyers will seek out inexpensive models to fit their budgets, it’s worth exploring some of the pricier SUVs on the market as their longevity is often worth the cost.
To help you shop, GOBankingRates referred to data collected by iSeeCars regarding their ranking of the longest-lasting SUVs currently on the market.
In alphabetical order, see the six SUVs with longevity that are worth the money.
Chevrolet Tahoe
- Starting at: $58,195
Shoppers looking for a long-lasting full-size SUV have found it in the Chevrolet Tahoe.
According to iSeeCars, the Tahoe ranks in seventh place as the SUV most likely to last 250,000 or more miles and took 12th place in their overall list of the top 30 vehicles most likely to last 250,000 or more miles.
And even though its starting price is on the expensive side, the Tahoe is fully capable of transporting cargo and big groups of people everywhere you need to be.
GMC Yukon
- Starting at: $68,895
With a starting price tag of $68,895, the GMC Yukon is the most expensive full-size SUV on this list. It’s huge, but also comfortable to ride in and quiet to drive, the latter of which may pleasantly surprise drivers.
Per iSeeCars’ ranking, the GMC Yukon took tenth place as the SUV most likely to last 250,000 or more miles. We also think it’s worth noting that within the same top 10 ranking, the GMC Yukon XL came in sixth place. Both vehicles also ranked among the top 30 vehicles most likely to last 250,000 or more miles — No. 19 (GMC Yukon) and No. 11 (GMC Yukon XL), respectively.
Honda Pilot
- Starting at: $41,595
Those shopping for a sensible mid-size SUV built for families will want to check out the Honda Pilot.
The Pilot, with its three-row seating and extra cargo space, took eighth place as the SUV most likely to last 250,000 or more miles in the iSeeCars ranking. Overall, it landed No. 13 among the top 30 vehicles most likely to last 250,000 or more miles.
Lexus GX
- Starting at: $64,250
Buyers hesitant to purchase a Lexus GX may feel more confident about investing in one after reading how it stacks up in the rankings.
The mid-size SUV takes fifth place within the top 20 SUVs most likely to last 250,000 or more miles and ninth place overall for vehicles positioned to last 250,000 or more miles.
Nissan Pathfinder
- Starting at: $38,040
Described by Car and Driver as “comfy family transport,” the Nissan Pathfinder is the cheapest mid-size SUV in our roundup.
It also takes the No. 13 spot among the top 20 SUVs most likely to last 250,000 or more miles and a lower spot — No. 24 — among the top 30 vehicles most likely to last 250,000 or more miles.
Toyota Highlander
- Starting at: $41,000
Several Toyota SUVs ranked among iSeeCars as SUVs most likely to last 250,000 or more miles on the road. The Toyota Highlander landed in nine place among its SUV counterparts. A special nod is also worth giving to the Toyota Highlander Hybrid which zoomed ahead to third place among the top 20 SUVs.
How did the Toyota Highlander and Highlander Hybrid stack up among the top 30 vehicles most likely to last 250,000 or more miles? The Toyota Highlander Hybrid took fifth place while the Highlander landed in the No. 17 spot.
