Aldi upends expectations unlike any other kind of grocery store. Not only does Aldi have unique food finds that are delicious, but you can often find them in stock for a great price.
That’s great news for families who are looking to stay on budget as it feels like the weekly grocery bill gets higher and higher with each passing week. If you have a hungry family of four and need some great ideas for how to satisfy their cravings, make sure you plan a trip to Aldi.
Here are some Aldi finds for under $10 that can feed a family of four.
Happy Harvest Whole Potatoes
- Price at Aldi: $1.05 per can
Potatoes can be a small, but mighty food. And while these Happy Harvest whole potatoes are small, they are mighty affordable so that you can buy several cans to feed your family without going over your allotted grocery budget.
“I now buy six cans of whole potatoes every time I go to Aldi,” said Robin Asbell from Simply Recipes. “The Happy Harvest whole potatoes in a can are only $1.05 per can. You can’t beat a pantry stash of peeled, cooked potatoes at the ready for affordable comfort food.”
Ready To Roast Carrots and Sweet Potatoes
- Price at Aldi: $2.99 per package
Don’t forget that the frozen food section in Aldi is a treasure trove of great meal finds, all of which tend to be under $10.
That’s true for the Ready To Roast carrots and sweet potatoes package that Kris Osborne from Simply Recipes found to be cheaper and fresher at Aldi. “It’s a delightful mix of sweet potatoes and carrots, all pre-chopped and seasoned heartily,” Osborne said.
Mama Cozzi’s Take and Bake Deli Pizza
- Price at Aldi: $7.19
Who doesn’t love a pizza dinner? Forget the takeout or delivery that will inflate their pricing. Instead, head to Aldi and pick up a Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen 16-in pepperoni take and bake deli pizza which you can heat up in your oven at home, with enough slices for the whole family. There are multiple varieties of flavors as well, including sausage and pepperoni, the five-cheese, a supreme pizza and a meat lover’s version, as well as some cauliflower crust versions.
“I’ve found that one pizza can feed two very hungry teenage boys for dinner or a family of four. It also makes a filling afternoon snack for five to six teenage boys,” said Jeanette Hurt from Simply Recipe.
Morton’s of Omaha Marinated Petite Tender
- Price at Aldi: $6.99 per pound
If your family is salivating after your trip to the grocery store, it’s probably because you picked up a Morton’s of Omaha marinated petite tender. You get to choose from garlic or peppercorn seasoning, but either way, you’ll only pay $6.99 per pound, which makes dinner for your family delicious and affordable at the same time.
When it comes to preparing dinner with this cut of meat, “the possibilities are endless,” Osborne explained in another Simple Recipe post.
“And at this price, I don’t feel like I have to save it for special occasions,” Osborne added. “If you want to add a touch of affordable luxury to your meal rotation, Aldi’s got your back — again!”
