Eating at McDonald’s is already going to be much cheaper than going to a sit down restaurant. But, there are even more ways to save with these tips.

Retirees looking to stay within their budget are going to want to read this before they make their next trip to McDonald’s

Order off the McValue Menu

With deals like “buy one, add one for $1” the McValue menu is an affordable way to get a meal for two people. There are deals on breakfast favorites, as well as classics like burgers and the McChicken.

The value menu also offers combos like the McDouble Meal Deal, which includes a double cheeseburger, a 4-piece order of McNuggets, a small order of fries and a small drink for just $5.00.

The McValue meal is for a limited time only, so make sure to take advantage of it while you can.

Get the McDonald’s App

For retirees that are frequently hitting up McDonald’s, the app is a must. It’s free to download and offers deals exclusively for those with the app. App users even get a free McCrispy when they download the app and make a purchase over $1.00.

Once the app is downloaded, customers can join MyMcDonald’s Rewards so that every dollar spent earns points that can be redeemed for free items in the future.

Order on Fridays

Want free fries? With the app, customers can get a free order of medium Fries on any order over $1.00. This deal will be going until the end of the year, so enjoy it for the rest of 2025.

Go to McDonald’s on Birthdays

This is another treat for app users. On customers’ birthdays, they’ll be sent a coupon for a medium order of fries.

Fill out the Survey on the Receipt

One big tip to save at McDonald’s is to save the receipt. On it, there will be an offer customers can redeem, so long as they fill out the customer satisfaction survey. The receipt will have a code to enter, then customers can take the survey and receive a coupon for free items on the next visit.

Check for a Senior Discount

As a company, McDonald’s doesn’t have a senior discount, but many individual stores do offer one. Customers can ask before placing their orders to see if the particular McDonald’s they’re at gives a discount for those over a certain age.
