A Walmart frozen pizza that can rival a restaurant pie might sound like an SNL skit, but for many consumers, it’s true. Specifically, Walmart’s private-label Bettergoods brand, which launched in 2024 as a more premium, gourmet line of products, has several frozen pizza varieties that are going viral.
Here’s what Redditors and others are saying about how Bettergoods beats the typical big-box store frozen pizza expectations.
The Bettergoods Pizza Buzz
On Reddit, for example, you’ll find several threads in r/frozendinners subreddit raving about Bettergoods pizza. One user, Sure-Juggernaut-2215, posted about the Bettergoods margherita pizza, saying that it’s better than their former go-to frozen pizza and even tastes like something they’d “get from a local artisan pizzeria.”
And on TikTok, for example, @thecandelarios raved about the prosciutto and arugula variety, as well as the pepperoni and bacon one.
At only around $6-$7 per pie, depending on the variety, that could mean big savings vs. going out to eat or ordering a pie for delivery. Granted, like many frozen pizzas, they’re smaller than what you’d often get at a pizzeria, but each pie does still technically have three servings.
Even if you bought two, that’s still likely far less than what you’d spend on a fresh pie. Gourmet or artisan pizzas typically range from $20-$40, according to Toast. And when you factor in delivery fees, you could wind up saving a lot by stocking up on these freezer finds.
Other Bettergoods Dishes Receiving Praise
Beyond pizza, Walmart’s Bettergoods brand has several other products worth considering, to help you avoid spending as much dining out/using delivery apps.
Some popular picks include:
Chicken Wings With Lemon Pepper Dry Rub
- Price: $8.84
These wings have great reviews, such as one Redditor, Nightviperr, stating that even though they’re not normally a lemon pepper fan, they found dinner to be “absolutely delicious,” describing the wings as “meaty, juicy, flavorful, with a nice crisp to them.”
One package serves 4.5, so this could be a good pick if you’re hosting a party.
Plant-Based Chick’n Nuggets
- Price: $3.42
Another solid option, which might fit your dietary preferences better, is Bettergoods’ plant-based chick’n nuggets. The reviews aren’t always quite as raving as for some other products, but they’re generally pretty positive. If you’re looking to save money on a dupe of some other plant-based nuggets like from Morningstar or Beyond, this could be a good buy.
Milk Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Ice Cream Bars
- Price: $2.97
Don’t forget dessert. These ice cream bars also have solid reviews, with @mylifeasrisaroo saying on TikTok that she’s obsessed with the strawberry flavor. A pack comes with three bars, so they’re about $1 each, and they could be a good budget alternative to brands like Häagen-Dazs or Magnum.
