Sam’s Club has been around since 1983, and people all over America love it for its excellent deals. But not everything at the big-box store is created equal — and some items are better suited for people shopping on a budget than others.

GOBankingRates spoke with a shopping expert and scoured the internet to find out the best items to buy at Sam’s Club with a $100 grocery budget. Here they are.

Eggs

Bhavin Swadas, a shopping expert with Roar The Deal, recommended eggs. “I start right off with their Member’s Mark cage-free eggs as a very useful staple for both breakfast and baking,” he said. The prices of many Sam’s Club items may vary in store and online, but you can get two dozen Member’s Mark eggs for around $5.

Coffee

This coffee from Pablo’s Pride is whole bean and has low acidity. It’s good quality and won’t upset your stomach as much as some other coffees. And at about $14 for 2 pounds of coffee, it’s an excellent deal that’ll last a long time.

Ground Turkey

Swadas suggested ground turkey as a versatile meat option. It’s “very reasonably priced and, more importantly, very versatile since it can be made into tacos, meatloaf or spaghetti sauce,” he said. For example, you can get two packages of Jennie-O ground turkey (each is 2.5 pounds) for just shy of $16.

Coconut Crispy Rollers

These coconut snacks from Ava Organics are made with good ingredients, like organic coconut milk and coconut sugar. They’re tasty and not too unhealthy. And while the price might be a bit high at $10.48, they’re a feel-good treat that you deserve.

Mixed Steamer Vegetables

Swadas recommended getting “a large bag of mixed steamer vegetables to steam, roast or combine into soups and stews.” The price can vary by brand and size, but this Member’s Mark bag of mixed vegetables costs $6.28.

Cheese

This Kerrygold Dubliner cheese is from mostly grass-fed cows. It’s a good price, especially while it’s on sale, which it often is. Make sure to check the website before you visit, and if it’s available, stock up. While the price may vary, you can get it for about $13 currently.

Raw, Unfiltered Honey

Raw honey is not heated too much, so it keeps more of its good stuff — keeping you healthy all year round. Plus, it’s super tasty too! Sam’s Club offers a variety of brands of raw honey, so you’ll have plenty of options to fit in your budget. For example, a 40-ounce bottle of Local Hive honey costs $13.98.

Wild-Caught Salmon

Wild-caught salmon is better than farm-raised because it has more nutrients and a better color. Sam’s Club regularly has Member’s Mark wild-caught salmon at an excellent price — currently $10.98 per pound. Stock up.

Bulk Pack of Oats

Swadas recommended high-quality oats, saying they’re “excellent not only as a nice and filling breakfast but also in baking and as a topping on yogurt or smoothies.” Sam’s Club offers oats in different brands and sizes, so you’ll have plenty of options. For example, you can get a 56-ounce bag of Bob’s Red Mill oats for $8.48.

These items can help you get good food for your money at Sam’s Club. “I enter Sam’s Club with the $100 budget, but I would first get what seemed to give me real value for my money while varietizing on healthy choices,” Swadas said.
