Many items are marketed to “change your life.” And if you believe every infomercial, for three easy payments of $19.99, you can have some gadget that you use once, then sell at a yard sale for $2.

Not every item is the lifesaver it’s advertised as, but some can actually make things significantly easier, and they don’t have to break the bank. Here are some items consumer experts recommend picking up that make life simple and don’t cost a ton.

Dreamfarm Sharple

Hank Reinhart is the president and founder of Sabavi Home, an online store that specializes in home goods. Reinhart thinks one of the better items on the site is the Sharple.

“It’s a peeler that sharpens itself automatically!”

You never have to worry about buying a sharpener when it gets dull, so it can be ready to use whenever you need it. It also comes in three different colors to seamlessly match your kitchen decor.

Tile Bluetooth Tracker

“One must-have item under $50 is a Bluetooth tracker!” said Scott Lieberman, the founder of Touchdown Money.

He said these devices can be attached to items like keys, wallets, luggage and even your pets, so you never lose them again. Tile works with your phone to find items. So, all you have to do is affix the tracker to items (or your furry friends’ collars) you want to keep track of, then when you want to find them, you can use your phone to locate them.

Airtender Stainless Steel Precision Aerator Boxed Set

“This aerates wine instantly and by the glass to suit any taste,” Reinhart spoke of this tool any wine connoisseur should have.

In addition to aerating your wine, this aerator can also be used to add foam to your cocktails and other drinks. Plus, it’s dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning.

One satisfied reviewer said, “Got this as a gift and was ‘unsure’ about it because we are not wine experts by any means. Since trying it on a white and a red, we now use it on just about everything like cocktails and coffee. My kiddo even uses it on her chocolate milk.”

Dreamfarm Lemon Fluicer

Find that the juicers you use can’t actually bring the juice. Reinhart recommends getting your hands on the Fluicer.

“It’s a dishwasher-safe juicer that juices from the inside out and outside in for ultimate juice extraction.”

Customers love the Fluicer, and say it’s especially beneficial if you have pain in your hands. One review read, “It’s amazing. I have arthritis in my hands and it gave me a hard time getting any juice out of anything. This was so much easier and gave me a ton of juice.”

Cora Ball

  • Price: $42 for non-members

The Cora Ball is a plastic laundry ball that collects lint and microfibers in your laundry cycle. The benefit to the Cora Ball is that, since it’s plastic, you can use it for multiple loads, rather than some other laundry balls on the market that are disposable. Plus, collecting the microfibers off clothes helps to protect them.

“The Cora Ball makes it simple to keep microplastics out of the ocean and extend the life of clothing when doing laundry,” Reinhart said.

It’s sold on Wearwell, which offers a membership option, so you could get this for $37.80 with your membership.

New England Apothecary Signature Rescue Bar

Instead of getting too much lotion all over yourself, Reinhart recommended trying out this lotion bar instead. You can apply it to any part of your body in need of moisture without making a mess. Plus, it’s super portable.

“It’s small enough to carry with you in your bag or carry-on, and has the most divine smells.”

Reinhart also pointed out that it’s made safe for sensitive skin, so even kids can use it. Like the Cora Ball, it’s sold on Wearwell, so you can get the bar for less if you sign up to be a member.

Automatic Tape Dispenser

This might sound like a simple recommendation, but it truly does make a difference. If you don’t already have an automatic tape dispenser, Dr. Deborah Gilman, owner and chief licensed psychologist at Fox Chapel Psychological Services, said to get one ASAP.

“It streamlines the process of wrapping gifts, packaging things for mailing, crafting, or organizing tasks by automatically dispensing tape, saving time and effort.”

Gilman bought the Eagle brand one from Amazon and likes that it conceals the cutting blade, so kids can use it safely.
