10 Best New Dillard’s Clothing Items That Are Worth Every Penny

Department stores might seem like they belong in the 20th century, but there are still a few chains that continue to press forward today. One of them is Dillard’s, the Little Rock, Arkansas-based chain that got its start in 1938 and today ranks as one of the largest fashion retailers in the country, with 274 stores in 30 states.

Dillard’s offers a range of apparel, beauty and home products from both national and exclusive brand sources. The retailer widened its lineup in May when it launched Dannijo for Gianni Bini, a limited-edition fashion collaboration with Florida-born sisters Danielle Snyder and Jodie Snyder Morel.

Like most apparel retailers, Dillard’s regularly trots out new items to keep its customers engaged.

Here are some of the best clothing deals for August.

• Price: $79

Reviewers give this Allison & Kelly strapless taffeta dress a rating of 4.54 out of 5 stars, so there are plenty of satisfied customers. It features a ruched body, bow back with detachable train, zip back closure and polyester/nylon/spandex fabric mix. A similar item at Pippa & Pearl — the Mrs. Show Stopper ruched mini dress — sells for $129.

• Price: $84

This new Ali Miles jacket features a jacquard fabrication, abstract print, wire collar neckline, 3/4 cuffed sleeves, center front button closure and polyester/rayon material. Its front length measures about 29 inches and its back length is slightly longer at 29.5 inches.

The $84 price is about half the price of the Travelers™ Collection cheetah glam jacket from Chico’s.

This popular Tommy Bahama Ashby shirt has an average rating of 4.77 out of 5 stars and features a crew neckline and curved hemline. The price represents a significant markdown from the regular price of $74.50 — which is what you would have to pay for the Tommy Bahama Ashby slub t-shirt at Nordstrom.

Dillard’s also marked the price down on this men’s Polo t-shirt from its original $65. It features a crew neckline, pullover construction and multicolored signature embroidered pony on the left side of the chest. You would have to pay $65 for the similar Polo Ralph Lauren men’s custom slim fit soft cotton t-shirt at Macy’s.

This Roundtree & Yorke men’s button-down dress shirt features long sleeves with button-barrel cuffs, an eco-wash cotton twill fabric and non-iron technology that keeps it from shrinking. A similar Brooks Brothers pinpoint stretch dress shirt from DXL sells for $118.

• Price: $33

Dillard’s marked down the prices on most sizes of these Volcom Frickin men’s shorts from their normal $55. They feature front slash pockets, pre-laundered fabric and Volcom’s signature branding. The price represents a discount from the $59.95 you would have to pay at Land’s End for its similar men’s comfort-waist chinos.

• Price: $39

This Miss Chievous pullover features a crew neck, French terry drop shoulder and cotton/polyester fabric blend. A similar item at Oriana Lifestyle — the Easton raw-edge pullover — retails for $108.

• Price: $39

Here’s a cargo-style mini-skirt for younger customers that features a front button/zip closure, cargo pockets and a cotton blend. The price is well below the $48 you would pay at Macy’s for its big girls’ twill cargo skort.

These Tommy Hilfiger cargo joggers feature a logo-tipped drawstring at the elastic waist, double-sided seam pockets with flag detail, two flap-closure cargo pockets with a printed logo, elasticized leg hems and a cotton/spandex twill material.

Dillard’s marked down the price on this organza dress from Allison & Kelly from $69. It features a square neckline and pull-on styling, and at this price, retails for much less than the $69 organza puff-sleeve mini from Lulus.
