Trump’s incoming administration may reverse several Biden-era electric vehicle (EV) policies, including the $7,500 federal tax credit, potentially changing the auto industry by 2025. This could mean a return to hybrid popularity. 

According to recent data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), hybrid electric vehicles were 8.6% of the light-duty vehicle market sales through the first quarter of 2024. The figure rose to 9.6% in the second quarter as consumer interest in hybrids ballooned. 

With decreasing EV incentives in sight and hybrid vehicles becoming even more competitive in the market, it’s a good time to consider hybrids. Here are six options to choose from.

1. Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

This compact SUV starts at about $31,900 but is a practical and efficient vehicle with an estimated EPA combined fuel economy of 40 mpg.
