Disney Cruise Lines’ latest ship, Disney Destiny, is scheduled to set sail for its maiden voyage in November. The question is — is it as budget-friendly as it is magical?

The Destiny will feature a “Heroes and Villains” theme, which the House of Mouse claims will be more pronounced than their typical cruise ship themes. From live shows to themed spaces and bars, Disney execs say passengers don’t need to be familiar with the stories to enjoy any of the ship’s many experiences. Still, familiar fans will find plenty of fun Easter eggs hidden among them. Read on to find out how much a trip will cost you.

Destiny Itineraries

For its inaugural season starting in November 2025, the Destiny will sail from Fort Lauderdale for four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean. Each voyage will stop at one or both of Disney’s destinations in the Bahamas: the private island Castaway Cay and the new Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Starting in 2026, the options will expand to include cruises between three and seven nights. Seven-night cruise itineraries feature options including Cozumel, Mexico; George Town, Grand Cayman; San Juan, Puerto Rico and Philipsburg, St. Maarten.

Cost

Let’s get down to brass tacks: what’s all this going to cost? Costs vary by date, with holidays and school breaks inevitably costing more than typical in-school dates.

Value

What do you get, for all that mousey money?

Travel blogger Jayme Keffalas of TheNorthernPrepster.com, who has sailed on over a dozen Disney cruises, said Disney cruises do typically cost more than other options, but they come with top service and endless attention to detail.

“From the ‘complimentary’ childcare, fabulous dining hosts and housekeepers that add a personal touch, you get service from the best of the best,” Keffalas said. “Your food is all included and allows unlimited 24/7 room service. Entertainment includes characters galore, Broadway-style shows that the whole family will love and the only cruise line that offers fireworks at sea.”

Unique Features of the Destiny

The Disney Destiny has its own unique shows, lounges, bars and experiences.

“Disney Destiny’s ‘heroes and villains’ theme includes a broadway-style Hercules stage show, a Lion King dining experience featuring African-inspired cuisine and entertainment and villainous experiences like the adults-only Cruella de Vil lounge,” explained Disney travel agent Theresa Bauman.

Other entertainment options include a Frozen musical, stage spectacular “Disney Seas the Adventure,” cafes, character interactions, fireworks and more. Perhaps most importantly, the Destiny will have kids clubs for all age groups — so parents can enjoy a relaxing vacation of their own.
