Costco is a membership warehouse club that grew from a single Price Club store to a multibillion-dollar international retailer. Costco now operates hundreds of warehouse clubs in eight different countries. The company focuses on selling quality, brand-name merchandise to its members at the best possible prices. Each store has a wide selection of merchandise, plus specialty departments and exclusive member services.

Costco Membership

A Costco membership grants you access to warehouse locations across the globe. You can become a member either online or in-store, and you can choose from different types and tiers of membership depending on which is best for you. The two types of memberships are Gold Star and Business. You must have a business license, resale certificate or three pieces of business ID to apply for a Business membership. The base level of each membership type costs $60 annually. Costco members of either type also can upgrade to Executive membership and earn an annual 2 percent reward (up to $1,000) on qualified Costco, Costco.com and Costco Travel purchases. Executive members also receive additional benefits and discounts. The higher tier of membership costs $120 annually.

Costco Travel

Costco members can book hotels, vacation packages, cruises and rental cars with Costco Travel. Travel deals are available exclusively to Costco members, and all payment information is visible upfront so you know exactly what you’ll be paying before booking. Costco promises the same value with travel bookings that members have come to expect from their merchandise sales. Executive members get even more than great savings — they’ll earn a 2 percent reward from their Costco Travel purchases.

Costco Photo Center

The Costco Photo Center is the hub for members to create personalized gifts, cards and more, including wedding invitations, photo mugs, metal prints and business cards. Members can even order prints and photobooks directly from their phone using the Costco Photo App.

Costco Coupons

Costco members can find current deals and promotions by browsing the Warehouse Savings on Costco.com. Discounts are available on a variety of products, including baby items, home goods, clothing, food, electronics and more. Some deals are available in-store only, while others can be shopped directly on Costco.com.

Costco Visa

The Costco Anywhere Visa Cards by Citi are available for personal use, as well as for business, and come with cash-back benefits for shoppers. The credit card, which is available exclusively to Costco members, gives cardholders 4 percent cash back on eligible gas worldwide, 3 percent cash back on restaurants and eligible travel purchases worldwide, 2 percent cash back on all other purchases from Costco and Costco.com and 1 percent cash back on all other purchases. There’s no annual fee, and no foreign transaction fees on purchases made abroad.

Costco Stock

Costco stock has outperformed competitors in the long term, but they have been dipping more recently. The stock reached a low point in July 2017 at $150.44, but as of March 23, 2018, prices were back up to $180.84. The company’s revenues and online sales both grew in the first quarter of 2018, and stock values are expected to increase as well.
