You can open an H&R Block Prepaid Emerald MasterCard at your local H&R Block office — and you can have your tax refund loaded on the card to avoid any check-cashing fees. Load the card by setting up direct deposit or by visiting a Walmart, 7-11 or Dollar General store, among other locations.
