Nearly 25 years have passed since the year 2000 and much has changed over the last quarter century, particularly the skyrocketing cost of living and housing market in the United States.Â
Key findings from a 2025 GOBankingRates study analyzing the national average home sale price from 1963 to 2024 revealed the average home sale price in the year 2000 was $375,461 when adjusted for 2025 dollars. At this rate, could the average home sale price hover in the vicinity of $678,525 by 2050? While it’s much too soon to tell, what we do know is how much the average home has cost since 2000.Â
