No matter where you live, rideshare rides have become substantially more expensive in recent years. A Bloomberg report found that the average cost of a rideshare trip in the U.S. increased by 45% from 2019 to 2022.
However, there are some cities where you’ll pay a premium for that Uber or Lyft ride compared to the cost in other cities. Scholaroo analyzed the average prices for a 6.5-mile rideshare trip in 33 cities across the U.S., and found that in the most affordable city, this trip would cost an average of $8.96, while in the most expensive city, it would cost $37.98.
