The typical car owner will hold on to a new car for eight years, but some owners choose to keep their vehicles for much longer. A recent iSeeCars.com study focused on which vehicles owners were most likely to own for 15 years or more — an indication that these vehicles are durable enough to warrant holding on to.
The study analyzed over 929,000 cars from model years 1981 to 2009 sold from January to September 2024 to determine which older cars are most likely to be kept by their original owners. It found the 10 SUVs that owners are most likely to keep for 15 years or more.
