What’s even better than a regular luxury sports car? It’s not a bird, though it can fly down the roads with the grace of a bird of prey. It’s not a plane, though it has the immaculate engineering and design you’d expect from the world’s best aircraft. It’s a supercar.
Supercars are fast, flashy and elegant luxury sports cars that dazzle the eye and dominate the road. You certainly won’t see one beside you in rush hour traffic. While these cars are more beholden to style and speed than practicality or affordability, it’s still possible to find one for under a cool million dollars.
Whether you’re trying to buy your first supercar in earnest or imagining that first purchase in your daydreams, there are some supercars to set your heart racing for under $1 million.
2024 Corvette E-Ray
A Chevy Corvette has been a leading name in dream cars for a long time, and the Corvette E-Ray takes those dreams to the next level. When YouTube auto review team The Straight Pipes reviewed the E-Ray, they could barely contain the elation in their faces when they put pedal to the metal, testing out just how fast that baby could go — spoiler alert: pretty darn fast.
Generally priced between $104,900 and $122,850, according to Edmunds, the E-Ray comes with jaw-dropping power, even as it’s relatively easy to handle. The car comes with more advanced driver assist features to make your ride even safer and smoother.
2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse
The Dark Horse is one powerful pony, accelerating from zero to 60 in less than four seconds. Reaching a top speed of 166 mph, the Dark Horse gallops on powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine. CarGurus praised the model for its “limited-slip rear differential, Brembo performance brakes and magnetic ride control.”
Surprisingly, the Dark Horse is one of the more affordable options available, starting at $62,930.
2024 Porsche 911 GT3 RS
When U.S. News & World Report ranked the 2024 Porsche 911 GT3 RS on its list of the most affordable supercars of 2024, the publication opined that the model “is a shining example of what you get with an affordable supercar. It has everyday practicality when you need it and world-class performance when your heart desires it.”
Priced around $241,300, the Porsche 911 still gives you a major bang for your buck, with U.S. News & World Report giving it a high performance score of 9.6 out of 10.
2024 Aston Martin DB12
Who doesn’t want a chance at feeling like James Bond? Getting behind the wheel of 007’s vehicle of choice, the Aston Martin, might have you feeling bold enough to take on the baddies yourself. Able to go from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 202 mph, you just might be able to catch them.
U.S. News & World Report had high praise for the car’s “671 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.” It’s a lot of power for a comparatively affordable price of $248,086.
2024 Ferrari Roma
Though U.S. News & World Report called the Ferrari Roma a practical, “entry-level” Ferrari because of its “two rows of seating, usable trunk space, advanced driver assistance tech and a modern 8.4-inch infotainment touch screen with Apple CarPlay,” the model comes with the sleek, highly luxurious and futuristic design you’ve come to expect from the legendary car maker.
The Roma can go from zero to 60 in roughly 3.1 seconds, achieving a top speed of 199 mph. You can have this high-powered beauty in your garage for the price of $247,308.
