Retirees looking to save some cash at Costco need to take advantage of the Black Friday sales that are sure to offer big discounts this year. Costco is already known for having low prices in bulk, and those prices could get even lower the day after Thanksgiving.
What items should be at the top of the list for seniors? Read what shopping experts recommended.Â
High-End Kitchen Appliances
Some retirees might be worried about spending a lot of money on a new kitchen gadget — even if they need it.
Dawid Siuda, a finance expert at Omni Calculator, said that, come Black Friday, Costco will probably be dropping their prices on their best kitchen appliances, giving seniors the deals they need to make the purchase happen.
“Costco often negotiates exclusive bundles with brands like Vitamix or KitchenAid,” Siuda pointed out, which is good news for those looking to buy an appliance from one of these top brands.Â
For seniors looking to add an air fryer to their counters, Costco Black Friday sales will probably deliver, said Jake Fishman, the founder of Building Imagination.
“I count an air fryer or a mixer among fairly strong household appliances because of the warranty extensions or extra accessories often added by Costco, enhancing their value,” Fishman said.
Hearing AidsÂ
Though it might not be the most fun gift, it can definitely be a life-changing one. If cost is preventing certain seniors from investing in a hearing aid, or upgrading their existing one, Siuda said Costco will probably have sales later this year.
“Costco is already a leader in affordable hearing aids, and in past years, they’ve offered deep seasonal discounts,” he noted.
Luxury Gift BasketsÂ
A gift basket has a little something for everyone, which makes it a great holiday present. Seniors can even take the items out of the gift basket and disperse them to several people on their list.
“Luxury gift baskets can drop significantly in price, and unlike electronics, they don’t become outdated,” Siuda pointed out.Â
Gift Cards
Another smart buy to stock up on for holiday shopping is gift cards. Fishman highlighted that Costco sells discounted gift cards to its members, making them a steal.
“Gift cards are largely underrated since Costco sells them at slightly discounted prices; hence you are locking in instant savings for dining, shopping, even experiences,” he added.
Educational Games
For retirees looking to entertain their grandkids, this is good to know. Fishman said Costco will likely have low prices on games that are as educational as they are entertaining.
“I recommend families focus their shopping on educational games and books, as these are heavily discounted by Costco and can become affordable tools for growth,” according to Fishman.
