Why spend top dollar for name brands when Walmart’s brands are even better? The big-box retailer has no shortage of in-house brands offering everyday items like groceries, household cleaning supplies, OTC medication and more at low prices.
We dug through Walmart’s hottest brands like Great Value and Equate and found 11 items for $6 or less, so you can save money instead of wasting it on name-brand items. Check out our picks and keep an eye out for their most affordable new arrivals.
Equate Women’s 5 Blade Disposable Razors
- Price: $5.74
High-quality women’s shaving razors don’t come cheap, so we were thrilled to find women’s five blade disposable razors from Equate.
This three-pack compares to the Gillette Venus brand, which is more than double the price ($12.99) at CVS. Did we mention that the quoted price is for two Gillette shaving razors? Walmart shoppers not only save more money, but they also get more personal care products for their buck.
Equate Allergy Relief Tablets
- Price: $3.97
You’ll have a tough time finding 100-count allergy tablets for under $4 anywhere else but Walmart. Even a similar offering from Target’s up&up brand costs $4.19 online.
Equate Cold and Flu Nighttime Relief Medicine
- Price: $3.92 (regularly $5.74)
Brand-name cold and flu medicine usually starts around $10 or more per bottle. Meanwhile, Equate cold and flu nighttime relief medicine has recently been marked down, which explains why more than 1,000 Walmart shoppers have purchased it online since Jan. 21.
Positive reviews are in agreement that this OTC medication works just as well as the leading brands without the overpriced cost.
Mainstays Aroma Accents Fragrance Oil Refill
- Price: $2.92
The cost of refilling fragrance oil varies depending on where you’re shopping. Shoppers could end up spending anywhere from $8 at Bath & Body Works to $12 at World Market.
For those prices, you can stock up on your favorite aromas from Mainstays’ collection of fragrance oil refills. Choose from juicy watermelon, cranberry mandarin spice and more for weeks of long-lasting fragrance in your home or office.
Equate 2-in-1 Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner
- Price: $2.84
If you love Head & Shoulders but aren’t a fan of the price tag, try Equate’s dandruff shampoo and conditioner. This 2-in-1 personal care essential contains the same active ingredients as those in Head & Shoulders to relieve dry scalps for an everyday clean.
Great Value Concord Grape Jelly
- Price: $2.58 (regularly $2.78)
It’s even cheaper to shop for Great Value Concord grape jelly with Walmart’s rollback pricing.
“This grape jelly is right up there with all the more expensive jellies,” wrote Joseph in a five-star review. “It spreads evenly and nicely. The texture is just perfect and there is no difference in taste between Great Value jelly and the big companies’ jellies.”
Great Value Buttery Round Crackers
- Price: $2.54
In a five-star review, Luci shares why Great Value’s buttery round crackers are preferable over the brand name that starts with “R.”
“That brand crumbles way too easily. You would open a pack and half would be broken. GV round buttery crackers are not like that. And they don’t crumble in your fingers. These are so good with summer sausage and cheese or with tuna salad.”
Great Value Frosted Toasted Pastries
- Price: $2.18
These bestselling frosted toasted pastries cost much less than the leading brand, Pop-Tarts, without sacrificing great taste.
More than 2,000 Walmart shoppers have given this breakfast favorite five-star reviews, citing the delicious flavor and lower price as the top reasons why they keep buying them.
Great Value Fresh Scent Toilet Bowl Cleaner
- Price: $2
Your new go-to for bathroom cleaning needs should be Great Value’s toilet bowl cleaner.
It works just as effectively as leading brands and is cheap enough to accommodate all household budgets, from big families to college students.
Great Value Ketchup
- Price: $1.97
What’s interesting about Great Value ketchup is how many positive reviews don’t even lead with the low price as the major reason to buy it.
Rather, shoppers are more likely to compliment the condiment’s taste (described as “having zing”). Even its bottle has been praised for dispensing ketchup more quickly than leading brands.
Great Value Kids’ Low-Fat Yogurt Variety Pack
- Price: $1.96
An eight-count pack of Go-Gurt costs as much as $3.79 at Target. By comparison, Great Value lives up to its name with an eight-count variety pack of strawberry and blueberry flavored yogurt tubes for less than $2. A must-buy if you have toddlers and young kiddos at home!
