Five Below is a go-to for affordable gifts, snacks and seasonal items due to most items being priced at $5 or under, but when you visit matters. Certain days (and times) bring in more foot traffic and fewer restocks, which can leave shoppers frustrated and empty-handed.
Here’s when to skip your trip, and when to go instead.
Avoid Five Below on Saturday
On Saturday, many people are off from work and school, so it’s likely that Five Below stores will have more foot traffic than other days of the week, according to Simplistically Living. The store may also become more crowded in the afternoon once more people are out and about.
Sunday might also be a bad time to shop Five Below due to the store not having time to restock from Saturday’s rush.

“Five Below’s appeal as a source for affordable gifts draws heavy crowds before Christmas, Black Friday and Valentine’s Day, which means shelves get picked over quickly,” Tran said.
He also pointed out that the stores can become disorganized from the constant restocking and traffic.
During Early Evening Hours
While some people might think swinging by Five Below after work is a good idea, Tran said it can be otherwise. He explained that many people stop by stores after work hours, which can result in more foot traffic and make the experience less than desirable — especially if you need assistance.
The Best Times To Shop at Five Below
Tran recommended shopping during the first four hours after opening on weekday mornings to experience the quietest and most organized shopping.
“During these times, stores tend to attract smaller groups like grandparents and young adults which make it easier to browse and for staff to maintain stock,” he said. “Shopping at this time usually means a smoother experience and a better chance to find those sought-after deals without the stress from a huge crowd.”
