When GOBankingRates set out to find items that are cheaper at Five Below than they are at Dollar Tree, every item we found had something in common. Each costs $1 while Dollar Tree’s offerings are priced at $1.25 or more. It might not sound like much money to save 25 cents, but the savings do start to add up.
Keeping savings in mind, GOBankingRates pulled six items that are better deals at Five Below than they are at Dollar Tree both on their own and when you buy multiples. Keep reading for the best examples of Five Below savings.
Spongebob Squarepants Jumbo Coloring & Activity Book
- Price: $1.00
Both Five Below and Dollar Tree carry jumbo SpongeBob Squarepants coloring and activity books. Five Below prices theirs for $1 while the same coloring books sold at Dollar Tree start at $1.25 each.Â
As a pro tip for parents shopping for coloring books that want to save extra money, Five Below also sells coloring books featuring Spider-Man, Disney princesses, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and more, all at $1 each.
Crayola Crayons (24 Count)
- Price: $1.00
Whether you’re looking for crayons to pair with those coloring books or need to restock certain school art supplies, shoppers can save more money by buying Crayola crayons at Five Below than they would at Dollar Tree.Â
Both discount retailers carry 24-count crayon boxes, but only Five Below sells theirs for $1 each.
Mead Composition Notebook
- Price: $1.00
Time to restock your notebooks this semester? It’s cheaper to shop for Mead wide ruled composition notebooks at Five Below, especially if you need to buy in bulk.Â
Purchasing four notebooks at Five Below would cost you $4 altogether. Meanwhile, Dollar Tree shoppers would pay $5 for the same amount.
Neutral Color Bandana
- Price: $1.00
Need a couple of simple bandanas? Add a few of Five Below’s neutral color bandanas to your shopping cart.
Available in black, light blue and white, buying these bandanas in bulk will cost you slightly less than it would to buy the Juncture fashion bandanas at Dollar Tree. Those bandanas are $1.25 each and may only be purchased in-store, which could potentially make it harder to find the colors you want in stock.
Elmer’s School Glue
- Price: $1.00
Both Five Below and Dollar Tree carry 4-ounce bottles of Elmer’s school glue, but Five Below edges out the cheap glue competition. Each bottle is $1 compared to Dollar Tree’s $1.25 pricing.
Jigsaw Puzzle Tube 150-Piece
- Price: $1.00
We wanted to save this special deal for last because the jigsaw puzzle tube sold at Five Below is an unusually cheap find.Â
The only types of jigsaw puzzles for sale at Dollar Tree are 24-piece puzzles in various character designs. At Five Below, you can shop a jigsaw puzzle that comes with 150 pieces in a daisy design for just $1. The junk food and panda designs have all sold out, so don’t wait to shop this exceptional puzzle sale while supplies last.
