Retiree Therese R. says she looks forward to Amazon Prime Day as her version of Christmas. “I’m Santa again, but this time for myself!” she said.

Therese is active with a busy schedule and has been eyeing different deals for some time now. She told GOBankingRates she wants to add some stuff to her life, but she’s being very selective. “I’m at a point in my life where I’m downsizing instead of accumulating, so I’m ultra picky.”

Here are the seven things this retiree plans on buying on Amazon Prime Day.

Yeti Tundra 45 Cooler

Although this Yeti cooler is larger in size than she’s used to, Therese is often in charge of snacks for her chair volleyball league and wants to keep everything, well, cool.

“Not only is this perfect for chair volleyball, I kind of think of it as a communal investment because I know other people in my community will want to borrow it,” she said.

Amazon eero Mesh WiFi Router/Extender

Improving her home’s internet connection is a priority for Therese — and thankfully her son is nearby to help her install this sophisticated router.

“My old router just doesn’t cut it anymore, especially when the grandkids visit and everyone’s on their devices,” she shared.

The Complete 5-Ingredient College Cookbook (Kindle eBook)

Although Therese is a different kind of senior, she says this college cookbook is actually rather handy.

“I’m always looking for simple recipes,” she said. “This free cookbook will give me some fresh ideas for quick, easy, and best of all, cheap, meals.”

Sony Bluetooth Wireless Headphones

Therese is looking forward to using these on her daily walks. “These will let me enjoy my audiobooks and music without any pesky wires getting in the way,” she said.

Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor

Therese is active, healthy and aware of the potentials of unclean air on her well-being.

“I’m way more conscious about the air quality in my apartment these days,” she added. “I have an air purifier that I got in the early days of COVID, and I want to test how effective it is.”

Samsonite Luggage

Therese loves to travel and with a 10-day trip to Italy on the horizon, she needs better luggage. “I didn’t travel much when I was younger because I just didn’t have the money. But now, the world is my oyster and I’m diving in,” she said.

She shared that she researched many brands and found Samsonite to be the best, but also one of the pricier brands. Now, she can travel in style on a budget.
